National Dept of Tourism Internships 2026 – Start Your Career Today

Want a real‑world job in tourism? The National Department of Tourism is looking for fresh graduates and post‑graduates who haven’t done an internship before. If you’re from South Africa and your diploma or degree fits one of the listed areas, you could join a 24‑month internship in Pretoria. The program starts in 2026, ends in 2028, and pays a monthly stipend of R7 860.50. The deadline to send in your application is 22 December 2025.

Why the Department of Tourism Internship Matters

When you join, you’ll spend two years learning on the job. You’ll:

  • Get hands‑on experience in your chosen field
  • Build skills that show up on your CV
  • Make it easier to land a long‑term job in the public sector or in tourism

Selected interns sign a 24‑month contract and work in different departments that match their studies.

What You Need to Apply

  • You must be unemployed and hold a South African degree or diploma in a relevant area.
  • You should never have worked in an internship before.
  • Be ready to work full time in Pretoria for the whole two years.

If your name is not on the shortlist, you’ll not hear back within three months of the closing date. That means your application was not accepted.
