Finance Internship Programme 2025 / 2026 – 24‑Month Opportunity in Limpopo

The Limpopo Department of Social Development (DSD) is looking for young, unemployed people to join a two‑year Finance Internship Programme. This role gives you the chance to work with non‑government organisations (NGOs) across the province, learn real‑world accounting, and help keep their finances in order. What qualifications we need

You must hold a Level 6 qualification (or something that is recognized as equal) in one of the following areas:

  • Accounting
  • Financial Management
  • Internal Auditing
  • Management Accounting

In addition, you should know the basics of public‑service laws, be comfortable using Word, Excel and Outlook, and have strong math, analysis, reporting and communication skills.


What you’ll do

Your daily tasks will involve:

  • Helping NGOs start up and explaining how their funding works
  • Checking financial reports for accuracy and completeness
  • Matching spending with approved budgets
  • Assisting NGOs to understand why their numbers differ from plans
  • Supporting training on how to use finance tools (budget sheets, cash books, templates)
  • Preparing monthly and quarterly reports
  • Following up on audit findings and making sure they get fixed
