They run several mines in South Africa and also work in places like Papua New Guinea.

What the Learnership Programme Is All About

The programme is a mix of classroom lessons and hands‑on work at active mines.

Minimum Entry Requirements

To be considered, you need to meet these simple criteria:

  • South African citizen.
  • Finished Matric (Grade 12) or Technical Matric.
  • Holds an N2 Certificate or an equivalent trade–theory qualification.
  • Has a qualification that matches the field you want.
  • Understands English – can read, write, and talk it.
  • Has a valid driver’s licence and reliable transport.
  • Is medically fit to work in a mining environment.
  • Willing to work long hours and be on call when needed.
  • Works well with others, follows rules, and is honest.
  • Supports Harmony Gold’s safety values.

How We Choose Candidates

Harmony Gold uses a fair and open process:

  1. Medical check – you’ll visit the company’s Occupational Health Centre.
  2. Interview – a formal conversation where we learn more about you.

If you don’t hear back within three months after the deadline, your application has not been successful.
