About Harmony Gold Mining Company

Harmony Gold Mining Company was started in 1950. What began as a small mining lease has grown into one of the biggest gold mines in the world. The company owns mines in South Africa and Papua New Guinea and is listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, the Berlin Stock Exchange, and the New York Stock Exchange. Over 32,000 people work for Harmony, and the business spends a lot of money helping communities, schools, and future engineers and scientists. A big part of that support is the bursary and graduate training programmes that give students a chance to work with Harmony after they finish school.

About the Harmony Bursary Programme 2026

Harmony wants students who are hard‑working, curious, and ready to learn about mining and engineering. The 2026 bursaries give money for tuition, a mentor who knows the industry, and a potential job at one of the world’s leading gold companies once you finish your studies.

Fields of Study Covered

The bursaries for the 2026 academic year are available for the following majors:

  • Electrical Engineering (only the heavy‑current track)
  • Extractive Metallurgy
  • Geology
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Mining Engineering
  • Survey and Planning

These subjects are essential to Harmony’s daily work and give you a solid path to a long career in the mine.

Selection and Shortlisting Process

Your application will be checked first for grades and then for how well you fit Harmony’s future needs.
