Fruit SA 2026 12-Month Internship for Graduates – Apply Today

Fruit SA – 12‑Month Internship for Graduates in Pretoria

Fruit SA is looking for bright, driven students who have finished university and are under 30 years old. They want you to join their headquarters in Pretoria, South Africa, for a full‑time internship that starts on April 1, 2026, and lasts one year. If you finish the internship, you’ll have a solid taste of how South Africa’s fruit business works, from farming and packing to exporting and marketing.

The internship starts on the 1st of April and ends the same month a year later. You’ll be on a team that works with the Industry Affairs Manager and the CEO, and you’ll learn to handle research, data, and communication tasks that help the company grow.

What You’ll Do

  • Help the Industry Affairs Manager, Market Access Liaison Manager, and the CEO with day‑to‑day admin and planning work.
  • Step in for the Executive Office Administrator when they’re away.
  • Look into what’s happening in the fruit market, both at home and abroad. This could be trends in consumer taste, new technology, or changes in export rules.
  • Keep the Fruit SA Industry Statistics Booklet up to date. That means collecting data, entering it into a database, and checking that everything is correct.
  • Work with the Citrus Industry Trust: write meeting minutes, send updates to partners, and keep records.
  • Attend industry events and conferences, and write a short report after each one so the team can learn from what happened.
  • Talk with other fruit companies, government bodies, and stakeholders to build strong relationships.
  • Write reports and add information to internal documents that help the company make better decisions.

These tasks give you a real feel for the whole fruit value chain – from picking to packing to selling.

Who We’re Looking For

  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics or a related subject that deals with the fruit industry.
  • You know how South Africa’s fruit market works and can explain both local and international trade.
  • You’re curious about regulations, technology, and plant‑health rules that affect fruit exports.
  • You’re comfortable using computers, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • You can write clearly, speak confidently, and give short presentations when needed.
  • Numbers and reports come naturally to you, and you can explain them in plain English.
  • You can plan your work, keep track of deadlines, and stay organized, even when many things happen at once.
  • You can work on your own and with teammates.
  • You’re good at solving problems that pop up unexpectedly.

If you can meet these points, you’re a good fit for the role.

How to Apply

Send your application by email to admin@fruitsa.co.za. Use a clear subject line that says “Fruit SA Internship Application – [Your Name]”. Make sure you attach your résumé, a short cover letter (one paragraph explaining why you’re interested), and your university degree certificate.

The deadline is February 6, 2026. Once you apply, you’ll hear from the hiring team within two weeks. If you don’t get a reply after that, it means your application wasn’t successful.

Why This Internship Matters

You’ll spend a year in a fast‑paced environment that teaches you about the fruit industry from every angle. You’ll see how new fruit varieties get from the farm to supermarkets, how regulations shape trade, and how data can drive better business decisions. This hands‑on experience is a great stepping stone if you want a career in agriculture, food science, marketing, or international trade.
