The Special 2025 Matric Top Achiever Bursary – A Chance to Study Finance in South Africa
If you finished high school in 2025 and scored well in your exams, you might have a chance to get a big scholarship that covers most of your university costs. The Finance and Accounting Services Sector Education and Training Authority (FASSET) is looking for students who love numbers, taxes, auditing, or IT to help them get into public universities and universities of technology in South Africa. This bursary is called the Special 2025 Matric Top Achiever FASSET Bursary.
What Is the Bursary?
A bursary is a type of scholarship that pays for part of your studies. FASSET’s bursary is specifically for people who did great in their 2025 matric exams and want to study subjects that keep our economy running, such as:
- Economics and Management Sciences
- Auditing & Taxation
- Accounting Sciences
- IT‑related programmes
- Actuarial Sciences
The aim is to build a new generation of finance professionals for South Africa. If you’re from a household that earns up to R1,000,000 a year and you scored 75 % or higher overall, you could be eligible. You also need to have passed Mathematics and Accounting with good grades.

- A place to live while you study
- Food allowances
All of this is meant to make it easier for you to focus on your studies without worrying about money.

Why This Matters
Many students who want to study finance, accounting or related fields can’t afford to go to a public university. This bursary removes that barrier. It helps bright, hardworking students from families who don’t have huge incomes to become part of the future workforce in finance and accounting.
The programme is only for those who finished high school in 2025, so it’s a one‑time chance for that cohort. Don’t miss out—apply before the deadline and see if you can become part of South Africa’s next generation of finance experts.
Good luck, and remember: a strong exam result and a clear passion for finance or IT can open doors that stay open for years.
