EV Manufacturing Artisan Apprenticeship 2025 – Start Your Career Today

Jump into the Electric Vehicle (EV) World with an Artisan Apprenticeship

If you’re a South African teen who’s just finished high school or a short‑term course and are looking for a real job that puts you in the future of cars and buses, this is for you. EV Manufacturing is opening a brand‑new apprenticeship program called “Artisan Apprentice 2025/2026.” In this job, you will learn how to build and fix electric buses, work with cool new technology, and earn money while you learn. The program runs for two to four years and is located at the Nkowakowa Electric Bus Manufacturing Hub in Limpopo, South Africa. The deadline to send in your application is 19 December 2025.

What the Apprenticeship Is About

The program is a partnership between the Mpumalanga Regional Training Trust (MRTT) and a company called EISOWAVE (Pty) Ltd. It is a hands‑on training course that will teach you everything you need to become a skilled worker for electric vehicle factories. Think of it as a mix of school and work: you will study the basics and then start doing real jobs on the factory floor. By the time you finish, you will be ready for a full‑time job in a growing industry that is part of the green economy.

Who Can Apply?

You can join if you meet one of these conditions:

  • You have a TVET Level 4 or N6 certificate and you are currently unemployed or working part‑time as an artisan graduate.
  • You are still in college taking a course in electric‑vehicle‑related skills but have no job experience yet.
  • You already work in automotive or a related engineering field and have up to three years of experience.

What Skills and Courses Should You Have?

You need to have a Level 4 or N6 qualification in one of these areas (or something very close to them):

  • Building and painting car bodies
  • Welding and making steel parts
  • Turning and fitting metal parts
  • Working as an automotive electrician
  • Electronics
  • Making seats and interiors
  • Mechanical engineering
  • Mechatronics
  • Chemical engineering
  • Electrical engineering
  • Plant engineering for automotive factories
  • Warehouse and logistics
  • Other technical or artisan fields

If you already know any of these skills, you’re ready to start the program.

Extra Things That Help You Get Selected

The program likes candidates who bring extra experience or knowledge, such as:

  • Hands‑on work in industries like automotive, mining, chemicals, energy, rail, aerospace, steel, plastics, recycling, or logistics.
  • Up to three years of experience in any of the industries listed above.
  • A trade test certificate that shows you’re officially qualified.
  • A driver’s licence.
  • Involvement in community projects.
  • Basic knowledge of EV tech, green energy, or even how AI can be used in manufacturing.

What You’ll Earn While You Learn

The apprenticeship pays a sector‑related stipend so you don’t have to worry about living costs while you are training. The job can require you to work at the main site or travel to other places when needed. This flexibility will help you fit the program around any other commitments you might have.
