What is the Eskom YES Programme?
ESKOM’s Youth Employment Service (YES) is a 12‑month fixed‑term placement that gives you hands‑on experience in the electricity, energy and water supply sector. You’ll be stationed in the North West province, working alongside professionals in customer service and administrative roles. It’s part of a national plan to fight youth unemployment by providing practical work exposure.
Who should apply? (Eligibility)
- South African citizen
- Aged 18 – 34
- Grade 12 completion with:
- • Mathematics (minimum 50%) OR
- • Maths Literacy (minimum 70%)
- English (minimum 60%)
- At least one other South African official language
- Not permanently employed for more than one year
- Not studying full‑time during the programme
- Never participated in a YES Programme before
