If you’re a student in South Africa who is still studying at a university, you can get a paid, hands‑on job in East London this year. The West London Industrial Development Zone (ELIDZ) is looking for a few new interns to help in the laboratory and with people management. The internship will last from three months up to a year and a half, depending on what your school needs. The job is located in the East London Industrial Development Zone in the Eastern Cape, and the deadline to apply is 11 November 2025.

What the internship is all about

ELIDZ is a government‑run company that helps bring new business into the Eastern Cape. To do that, they want young people to learn real work skills. This 2025 internship gives under‑graduate students a chance to practice what they study in a real office or lab. You will learn to do the work you studied, test new ideas, help make products, or help the company manage its people. The program fits inside the larger Special Economic Zone plan that tries to grow jobs and help the community.

Why this matters

A hands‑on internship is more than just a break from school. It lets you practice skills that employers look for, like using lab equipment, filing reports, or briefing a manager. You also meet people who work in the industry and can talk to them about future jobs. Working with ELIDZ means you’ll contribute to projects that help the economy and the community.

If you want to learn, grow and possibly get a job after graduation, this internship can give you a real advantage. It helps you stand out when you finally apply for work in South Africa.
