Why the Companies Tribunal Internship?
The Companies Tribunal (CT) is part of the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (DTIC). It helps settle disputes involving companies and makes sure that rules are applied fairly. By joining CT’s internship, you’ll be in a team that handles important paperwork, supports hearings, and keeps the office running smoothly.
This 24‑month experience is designed to give you practical skills in administration, operations, and organization. You’ll also learn how to work in a diverse environment where people from all backgrounds are valued.
During your internship, you’ll be supervised and will get hands‑on experience in:

1. Registry Internship (Reference 09/2025)
Stipend: R88,232.29 – R93,647.93 per year
Duration: 24 months
Location: Pretoria, Gauteng
Minimum Requirements
- National Diploma or Degree in Public Administration, Public Management, Law, or Paralegal Studies
- 18 to 35 years old
- No previous internship experience
- Currently unemployed
- Computer skills (MS Office, Excel)
- Can handle pressure and meet deadlines
Key Responsibilities
- Help with case‑related tasks under a supervisor
- Assist with the planning of hearings
- Support member claims processing
- Give general help to the Registrar
- Send out directives, reminders, and case updates to members
- Help records staff with filing and records management
2. Finance Internship (Reference 10/2025)
Stipend: R88,232.29 – R93,647.93 per year
Duration: 24 months
Location: Pretoria, Gauteng
Minimum Requirements
- Three‑year Degree in Accounting or a BCom Accounting qualification
- No previous internship experience
- Currently unemployed
- Computer skills (MS Office, Excel)
- Basic accounting knowledge
- Can work well under pressure
Key Responsibilities
- Record, verify and process invoices
- Keep the invoice register up to date
- Help with payroll entry and reconciliations
- Send out payslips
- Reconcile accounts receivable and payable
- Follow up on overdue payments
- Check invoices, expenses, and receipts
- Process monthly journal entries for assets, accruals, prepayments, payroll and reclassification
- Take part in inventory and asset counts
3. Administrative Support Internship (Reference 08/2025)
Stipend: R88,232.29 – R93,647.93 per year
Duration: 24 months
Location: Pretoria, Gauteng
Minimum Requirements
- National Diploma in Public Administration, Office Administration or a related field
- 18 to 35 years old
- No previous internship experience
- Currently unemployed
- Computer skills (MS Office, Excel)
- Strong communication, organization and detail‑oriented skills
- Can work well under pressure
Key Responsibilities
- Manage calendars and diaries
- Answer calls, emails and other correspondence
- Prepare documents, reports and presentations
- Schedule meetings, take minutes and track action items
- Keep confidential files and office records in order
- Support research and special projects
- Act as a point of contact for executives
- Help improve processes and administrative tasks
- Assist with project management activities
