The City of uMhlathuze has a big hiring event for graduates who are looking for a job. They want 50 people to join the team at Prince Buthelezi Mall in 2026. If you have a diploma or a university degree and you live in one of the city’s 34 wards, you could be a good fit.
Why this matters
The job is part of a plan to help young people gain real work experience. The City of uMhlathuze (more about us) wants to give new graduates a chance to learn and grow in a real office setting. They also want to make sure the community has a skilled workforce to keep the city running smoothly.
What the job looks like
The program is a “Graduate Job Opportunities Programme.” You will be placed in one of the following areas:
- Public Management – help keep city services running.
- Marketing and Communication – share what the city does with people.
- Social Work – support families and individuals in need.
- Teaching – help students learn new skills.
- Business Administration / Management – keep the city’s projects on track.
- Human Resources – manage the people who work for the city.
These jobs are all inside the city’s own building at Prince Buthelezi Mall. They’re not remote positions; you’ll be working on site every day.
Who can apply?
- You must own a National Diploma or a University Degree.
- You have to live in one of the city’s 34 wards.
- You need a letter that proves you live here. The letter can come from a Ward Councillor or from one of the city’s recognized leaders (the Amakhosi).
If you can’t provide a proof of residence, your application will not be accepted. Only people who live in the city are allowed to apply.
How to send your application
Send an email with your full CV attached to the City’s email address. The email must also include a proof of residence letter from a ward councillor or an Amakhosi. If you forget anything, the City may not read your application.
