Bridgestone 2026 Production Learnerships – Start Your Career Today

What’s the job?

Bridgestone, a global tyre maker, is looking for South African teenagers and young adults to join their *Production Learnership Programme* at the factory in Brits, North West. The program is a full‑time, on‑site internship that gives you real hands‑on experience in tyre production while you learn the rules of a safe, clean, and efficient workplace.

The first thing to know is that this is not a part‑time job or a short course. It’s a real learning experience that runs at the plant every weekday. You’ll work with a team of experienced supervisors and learn how to keep machines running, how to protect yourself and others, and how to meet production goals.

About the Learnership

  • Program: Production Learnership Programme
  • Location: Brits, North West, South Africa
  • Type: Internship / Learnership
  • Hours: Full time – you’re there during normal plant hours.
  • Key goal: Gain practical skills in tyre assembly, safety checks, and teamwork.

The aim is to hand‑craft a strong foundation in manufacturing so that you can move on to other roles, or keep working with Bridgestone or any other company that builds heavy goods.

Who runs Bridgestone?

Bridgestone is a company that sells tyres and related products under its own name and under Firestone. They have a presence in the Americas and the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) regions. Their motto is to “Serve Society with Superior Quality,” and they say they care about growth, new ideas, and the planet. You’ll work in a place that tries to keep everyone safe, equal, and happy.

What you’ll do

You’ll start by reporting to the Production Foreman and then:

  1. Check equipment for safety risks.
  2. Wear and keep your personal protective gear (PPE) clean and in good shape.
  3. Keep your work area tidy – follow the 3S rules: Sort, Set in order, Shine.
  4. Test machine controls to make sure they work before you start a job.
  5. Move empty spools, trolleys, and rolls where they belong.
  6. Put raw covers in the right storage bays.
  7. Feed the machines with the right solutions.
  8. Work well with others to finish the daily targets.

You’ll learn how to handle tools, follow safety guidelines, and get comfortable with production line rhythms. The learning is hands‑on – no long theory lessons. You’ll be trained on the job and have a mentor to answer questions.

Minimum requirements

To apply, you need:

  • A Grade 12 or N3 Certificate – basically high‑school completion.
  • Basic knowledge in either Pure Mathematics or Physical Science – helps with problem solving on the line.

If you’re younger than 18, you’ll still qualify, but you need a parent or guardian to sign the paperwork.

  • A friendly welcome and clear instructions for getting started.
