Bidvest International Logistics is looking for South African teens and young adults who are not working right now to join the YES (Youth Employment Services) Programme for 2025/2026. This is a 12‑month training job that will give you real work experience in the transport and logistics field. If you finish the programme, you will also get a portfolio that shows what you learned, which can help you find a full‑time job later on.
What the YES Programme is all about
The YES Programme is a government‑backed effort to reduce youth unemployment. It pairs you with a company – in this case, Bidvest International Logistics – and gives you hands‑on training and classroom work so you can pick up useful skills. The focus is on transport and logistics, which means you’ll learn about shipping, warehousing, supply chain, and other everyday tasks that keep goods moving across South Africa.
Your main duties if you’re accepted
- Stay in the programme for the whole 12 months.
- Finish 25 online lessons and practical exercises that cover everything from basic safety rules to using company software.
- Create a complete portfolio that shows your work and achievements at the end of the training.
Who can apply
To qualify, you need to meet a few simple conditions:
- Have finished Grade 12 (Senior Certificate).
- Be a South African citizen.
- Be between 18 and 34 years old.
- Not currently have a job.
- Be ready to work full time for the whole year.
- Be genuinely interested in transport and logistics.
- Not enrolled in any other school courses while you’re in the programme.
- Have not taken part in a YES Programme before.
What skills you’ll need
- Can work on your own but also ask for help when needed.
- Shows determination and sticks with a task until it’s done.
- Is trustworthy and keeps responsibilities straight.
- Can use a computer for basic tasks.
- Shows up on time for all scheduled activities.
- Communicates clearly in English.
