Your Next Step: A 12‑Month Compliance Internship at Bidvest Insurance
If you’ve just finished high school or are studying law, business or risk management, and you want to start a real career in finance, Bidvest Insurance is offering a 12‑month Compliance Internship for 2026. The internship will let you work inside a South African insurance company that protects everyday people from financial risk. It’s a chance to learn how rules and laws keep the financial world honest and fair.
Where You’ll Be Working
The internship is based in Bidvest Insurance’s offices in South Africa. You’ll join a team that’s part of the larger Bidvest Group, which also runs a bank, a life‑insurance brand and a brokerage. The company started in 1997 and is known for offering smart insurance solutions through direct and partner channels. The people there are young, energetic and eager to grow – a great environment for a fresh graduate.
What the Internship Gives You
This isn’t just a short summer job. It’s a full‑time, 12‑month program that focuses on the everyday tasks of compliance and legal work in the insurance business. You’ll see how the company follows rules set by the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) and the Prudential Authority. You’ll learn to:
- Handle complaints and keep track of each case
- Check that sales teams meet “fit‑and‑proper” rules
- Make sure the company follows all laws and regulations
- Plan and monitor training for staff about compliance
- Run checks to spot gaps in controls and improve them
- Help write reports for management and regulators
- Update company policies and support new frameworks
- Answer requests from regulators
These tasks will give you real experience with the rules that govern the entire financial services industry, a skill many employers look for.
