Armscor 2026 Bursaries: Internship & Career Opportunities for Graduates

The Armscor Bursary Programme is a scholarship offered by the Armaments Corporation of South Africa (known simply as Armscor) for students who want to study science and engineering subjects that will help build the country’s defence and technology skills.   • Aeronautical Engineering
  • Biochemistry, Chemistry and Physics
  • Computer Science, IT, Cyber Security and AI
  • Electronics and Electrical Engineering
  • Human Kinetics and Ergonomics Science

Who can apply?

You need to meet a few clear requirements:

  1. Be a South African citizen.
  2. Either be a Matric student in 2025 or have finished Matric.
  3. Score at least a level 5 in Mathematics, Physical Science, and English.
  4. Plan to study full‑time in one of the subjects listed above in 2026.
  5. Enroll or be accepted at a recognised public tertiary institution in South Africa.
  6. Have a solid academic record.
  7. Show that your household earns less than R1 million a year.
  8. Express a genuine interest in a defence‑related career.
  9. Come from a previously disadvantaged background.

If you don’t meet any of these points, your application will not be considered.

How to apply

  2. Fill it out completely and gather the necessary documents. These include:
    • A clear copy of your South African ID.
    • Matric results (mid‑year if you’re still in school, or the final certificate if you’ve finished).
    • A full academic record if you’re already at university.
    • ID documents of your parents or guardians, or a death certificate if they have passed away.
    • Proof that your parents or guardians earn a low income – this can be recent payslips, an affidavit if they’re unemployed or run an informal business, a SASSA grant letter, or a death certificate if they’re deceased.

Missing any of these documents can make your application void.

  1. Submit your application before 26 February 2026. You can do this in one of two ways:

    • By email: Send the completed form and all documents to bursaries@armscor.co.za. In the subject line write: “Armscor Bursary Application – Full Qualification Name”.

    • By post: Mail everything to:

After you send your application

  • Armscor will review all submissions by the closing date. If they think your application is strong, they will contact you within two weeks. If you don’t hear back within that time, it means you weren’t selected.
  • If you get a call, you will need to provide a few extra items: final Matric results, proof of university acceptance or registration, your student number, and an official fee statement if you’re already studying.
