AFGRI Farmer Development (AFD) is looking for people who are not currently working to join the 2025/26 Learnership Programme in Farming with Crops and Animals. This is a chance to learn how to grow crops, raise livestock, and manage a farm. The programme is based at the Vastfontein Farm, which is located in Pretoria North, Gauteng Province.
Application deadline: 19 November 2025
Location: Vastfontein Farm, Pretoria North, Gauteng Province
What the Learnership Looks Like
The Learnership Programme is a full year of learning that mixes classroom study with hands‑on work. During those 12 months you will see what a real farm is like, and you will do the same tasks that professional farmers do every day. The training is split into two parts: on‑the‑job training, where you help out on the farm, and off‑the‑job training, where you go to a classroom or a workshop to learn the theory behind the work.
AFGRI wants to give everyone a chance to join. In particular, we encourage women and people with disabilities to apply because of the company’s Employment Equity Policy.
