Broadband Infraco, a big South‑African company that builds fibre‑optic cables across the country, is looking for fresh graduates and TVET students to join its 2025 University Placement Programme and TVET Placement Programme. If you have a passion for engineering or computers, and you’re ready to learn on the job, this could be the first step toward a career in ICT.


About the Company

Broadband Infraco is a state‑owned business that runs a national network of fibre‑optic cables. The network connects cities, towns and even rural areas, so people and businesses can use high‑speed internet. The company’s work helps close the digital gap in South Africa and supports the country’s growing technology scene.


What the Placement Programmes Offer

Both programmes give you hands‑on experience while you finish your studies. They are split into two parts:

  1. University Placement Programme – 6 months long, with two job posts in the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) division.
  2. TVET Placement Programme – 12 months long, with eight job posts in the Network Operations Centre (NOC).

The programmes are open to unemployed youth who have finished Grade 12 and are studying for a National Diploma or a N6 Certificate in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.


1. University Placement Programme (6 Months)

  • Where:

    • Beaufort West – one slot (local residents get priority)
    • East London – one slot (local residents get priority)
  • Requirements:

    • Grade 12 (matric) certificate.
    • Completed the last year (S4) of a National Diploma or N6 Certificate in either Electrical Engineering (heavy or light current) or Computer Science.
    • A letter from your university that says you need on‑the‑job training to finish your degree.
    • No prior work experience is needed.

2. TVET Placement Programme (12 Months)

  • Where: Radiokop Head Office, Gauteng Province.

  • Requirements:

    • Grade 12 (matric) certificate.
    • Completed the last year (N6) of a Certificate in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
    • A letter from your TVET college that confirms work experience is part of the course.
    • No prior work experience is required.

What You’ll Get
