Looking for a hands‑on job that can turn into a long‑term career?
The eThekwini Municipality has a brand new Engineering Apprenticeship Programme for the years 2025/2026. If you’re a South African, between 18 and 35 years old, and currently not working, this could be the perfect chance to learn a skilled trade, earn a qualification, and start making money right away. The apprenticeship lasts up to three years and ends with a formal trade test that lets you become a certified Artisan.
Why this apprenticeship is a good fit
- The programme is open to anyone who lives in eThekwini (you’ll need proof of residence).
- It covers a mix of on‑site work and classroom study, so you’ll get real experience and the theory you need to pass the official tests.
- The training is approved by the relevant SETA/QCTO and the National Artisan Moderating Body (NAMB), so the certification is respected across South Africa.
- The municipality is especially encouraging people with disabilities to apply, so everyone gets a fair shot.
