What the opportunities are

Two active opportunities close on Saturday, 31 October 2026. The first is the FNB Private Banking and Advisory Graduate Academy Programme 2027. First National Bank invites suitably qualified graduates to apply. Locations are Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal and Cape Town.

The second is the Ba-Phalaborwa Municipality Youth Graduate Internships under the Youth Empowerment and Development Programme 2026 / 2027. There are 91 positions at Ba-Phalaborwa Local Municipality in Limpopo. The reference number is YED Programme 26/27. Duration is 6 months. The stipend is R271.04 per day.

A note on Coronation Fund Managers: StudentRoom also listed their Research Analyst Trainee Programme 2026 / 2027 with a 31 October 2026 closing date for graduates in Cape Town and Johannesburg. A check of the official Coronation recruitment page currently shows “Closed and no longer receiving applications.” Do not rely on the older listing deadline.

Who can apply

Check the requirements for each opportunity carefully. Many applicants miss one detail and get disqualified.

Relevant qualifications include Investments, Financial Planning, Estate Planning, Financial Management, Accounting and Economics. The programme is designed for graduates who want to develop careers in Private Banking, Financial Planning, Wealth Management, Investment Advisory and Client Relationship Management.

For the Ba-Phalaborwa Municipality programme, applicants must be between 18 and 35 years old, have Grade 12, have a relevant qualification where applicable, and meet the municipality’s programme requirements. Priority or consideration will be given to applicants with qualifications in Environmental Science, environmental-related studies or administration-related fields. Tips to improve your chances

Many applicants struggle with outdated documents or wrong reference numbers. Before you submit:

  • Check that you meet the minimum qualification requirements.
  • Update your CV.
  • Prepare certified documents where required.
  • Check that your cellphone number and email address are correct.
  • Use the correct reference number.
  • Apply through the stated official application channel.
  • Do not wait until the final day if an online recruitment system is available.

Employers or recruitment systems may close applications once sufficient applications have been received. Competition is high. Meeting the requirements does not guarantee selection.

Next steps

If you meet the requirements for either opportunity, prepare your documents and submit before Saturday, 31 October 2026. Apply early to avoid last-minute problems. Careful preparation gives you the best chance. Good luck.
