What is the Emfuleni Mayoral Bursary 2027?

The Executive Mayor of Emfuleni Local Municipality is offering a bursary for Grade 12 graduates who plan to study at a university, college or other tertiary institution. The aim is to support high‑performing learners from Emfuleni, especially those from disadvantaged households.

Who can apply?

To be eligible you must meet all of the following:

  • Matriculated with at least 60 % average.
  • Be starting your first year of a recognised tertiary programme.
  • Live in Emfuleni Local Municipality, Gauteng.
  • Have a letter of acceptance from the institution you will attend.
  • Provide a testimonial letter from your high school.
  • Come from a household where the total annual income does not exceed R350 000.

Applicants on the municipality’s indigent database will be given priority.

  • Technical skills
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • Chemical Engineering
