Oudtshoorn Municipality Study Assistance 2027 – Apply by 30 Oct 2026

Need help paying for university? The External Municipal Study Assistance Programme 2027 offers money for full‑time studies – but the deadline is this Friday, 30 October 2026 at 12:00. Act now before the window closes.

What the programme offers

The Oudtshoorn Municipality will fund eligible students for one academic year in 2027. The support is for full‑time study at any accredited South African tertiary institution. It is aimed at learners who live in the Greater Oudtshoorn area, including the surrounding rural communities.

Who can apply

You may apply if you meet all of the following:

  • You are in Grade 12 now, or you have already passed Grade 12.
  • You plan to study full‑time in 2027.
  • You have secured admission or registration at an accredited tertiary institution.
  • You reside within the Greater Oudtshoorn Municipality or its rural parts.

What you will gain

The award provides a financial grant for the 2027 academic year. It can cover tuition, books, and other study‑related costs. Preference is given to historically disadvantaged learners and persons with disabilities, so the programme helps those who need it most.

How to apply – step by step

  1. Collect the application form from an Oudtshoorn Municipality office, a municipal library, or the Thusong Service Centre (open 07:30 ‑ 16:30).
  2. Complete the form in full. Incomplete forms will be rejected.
  3. Attach the required documents:
    • Certified copy of your Grade 12 certificate or results slip.
    • Proof of admission or registration at an accredited institution.
    • Certified copy of your ID.
    • Proof of residential address.
    • Proof of combined household income.
    • If you have a recent (≤ 6 months) criminal record check, attach it; otherwise attach proof that you have applied for one.
  4. Send the completed form and documents by hand or post to the address below. Do not email or fax.
  5. Address the envelope to either:
Ms M Ayford – Senior HR Officer: Skills Development or
Mrs R January – Administrator: Skills Development & EPA,
Oudtshoorn Municipality, Corner of Voortrekker Road and Baron Van Reede Street, 69 Voortrekker Road, Oudtshoorn, 6625, Western Cape, South Africa.

Tips to improve your chances

  • Double‑check that every required document is attached and correctly certified.
  • Make sure your criminal record check is current, or include proof that you have applied for it.
  • Avoid any form of canvassing – it will lead to automatic disqualification.
  • Submit your application before the closing time; late or incomplete submissions are not considered.
  • Keep a copy of your CV for your own records – it will not be returned.

Final reminder

The last day to submit is Friday, 30 October 2026 at 12:00. If you do not hear back within 30 working days after the deadline, you can assume the application was unsuccessful. The programme is listed under Notice 171 of 2026.

Take the first step today. Collect the form, gather your documents, and send your application before the deadline. This could be the support you need to start your university journey.
