What the BASF South Africa Trust Bursary offers
The Trust will fully fund undergraduate or honours studies in Chemistry, Engineering or selected Science subjects. Funding covers tuition, textbooks, accommodation and a monthly stipend.
Who can apply
You must meet every point below before you start the application.
- South African citizen
- Female
- Black as defined by the BBBEE codes (African, Coloured or Indian)
- Matriculated in 2026 or currently completing Matric
- Enrolled or planning to enrol in an eligible undergraduate or honours programme
- Programme must be Chemistry, Engineering or a Science (excluding Medical Sciences and Economic Sciences)
- Study at a recognised, accredited South African university
- Show genuine financial need
- Household income ≤ R630 000 per year
- Strong academic record
- No criminal record
- Not receiving another bursary or scholarship for 2027

- Answer the optional question “How did you hear about this bursary?” and type www.zabursaries.co.za if you wish.
- Review all information, then click ‘Submit’ before the deadline that applies to you.
