What the internship is
The municipality is offering a one‑year, full‑time Disaster Management Internship in Stellenbosch, Western Cape. The role supports the Disaster Management Division with administrative, logistical and operational tasks related to disaster response, risk reduction, stakeholder engagement, early warning, training and public awareness.
Who can apply
You must meet the following minimum requirements:
- National Diploma or a comparable qualification in Disaster Management.
- Good computer literacy – you should be comfortable with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and basic GIS tools (Google Earth).
- Ability to communicate effectively in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Good physical fitness and the ability to work in difficult or inclement weather.
- A Code B driver’s licence is an advantage.
