Time is running out to secure funding for your 2027 studies. The Mulilo Bursary Programme is open for students from three Northern Cape municipalities, and the application deadline is 31 October 2026.
What the opportunity is
Mulilo will pay the costs of a recognised South African tertiary or trade qualification for eligible learners. The bursary is available for any field of study, as long as you meet the residency and other conditions.
Who can apply
To be considered you must:
- Be a South African citizen.
- Live permanently in the Northern Cape, specifically in Emthanjeni, Renosterberg or Siyathemba municipality.
- Be in your final year of Matric or already have Matric.
- Plan to study at an accredited university, college or recognised trade institute.
What you will receive
The bursary covers four main costs:
- Tuition fees
- Textbook allowance
- Accommodation fees
- A monthly stipend
In addition, you will get psycho‑social support and academic tutoring to help you succeed.

- Certified copy of your ID.
- Latest Matric results (if you are still in school) or Matric certificate (if you have finished).

- Proof of residence – utility bill, bank statement or similar showing an address in Emthanjeni, Renosterberg or Siyathemba.
- Proof of household income – latest payslips of a working parent/guardian, or an affidavit if they are unemployed.
- Fee statements for tuition and accommodation.
- Affidavit confirming:
- Your permanent home is within the eligible municipalities.
- You have no other source of funding for your studies.
- This is your first registration at a higher‑education institution (if applicable).
