There are only a few weeks left to apply for the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) Eastern Cape Work Integrated Learning Programme 2026, and it could be the first step onto your career ladder.
What the programme offers
SASSA is looking for two unemployed South African youth with an N6 qualification. The placements are in:
- Information & Communication Technology (ICT)
- Human Capital Management (HCM)
Each successful candidate will sign an 18‑month Work Integrated Learning (WIL) contract and receive a monthly stipend of R5 860.25. The stipend is all‑inclusive – no extra benefits such as housing or transport are guaranteed.
Who can apply
You must meet ALL of the following:
- South African citizen
- Age between 18 and 35 years
- Hold the required N6 National Certificate or a statement of results in the relevant field
- Apply for the position that matches your qualification
- Quote the correct reference number (SAS 43/2026 for ICT or SAS 44/2026 for HCM)
- Submit a fully completed and signed new Z83 form, a detailed CV and certified copies of your qualifications

Note that the WIL contract does not promise a permanent job at SASSA.
How to apply – step by step
- Download the new Z83 application form: Z83 form (official link).
- Fill in all sections and sign the form.
- Attach a comprehensive, up‑to‑date CV.
- Attach certified copies of the N6 certificate or statement of results that matches the position you want.
- Write the correct reference number (SAS 43/2026 or SAS 44/2026) on the top right of the form.
- Choose how to send your application:
- By post: Address it to Attention: Human Capital Management, SASSA, Private Bag X9001, Chiselhurst, East London, 5200.
- By hand: Deliver it to the SASSA Eastern Cape Regional Office, BKB Building, Corner Fitzpatrick Road & Merino Road, Quigney, East London (or any nearby SASSA office in the Eastern Cape).
- Make sure the envelope reaches SASSA before 13 August 2026.
Tips to improve your chances
- Double‑check that you have the exact N6 qualification listed for the role.
- Proofread your CV – clear headings, dates and responsibilities help assessors.
- Ensure every document is certified – unsigned copies will be rejected.
- Do not re‑apply for a post you have already applied to in a previous round.
- Preferably submit your application a few days early to avoid postal delays.
- If you have a disability, mention it – SASSA encourages applications from persons with disabilities.
