Time is running out to secure funding for your studies – the Letsatsi Borutho Trust bursary closes on 30 September 2026, and students living near the Droogfontein Solar Power plant need to act now.
What the bursary offers
The Trust owns shares in the Droogfontein Solar Power plant and uses the revenue to support local learners. It provides financial help to study at any recognised South African tertiary institution, including public or private TVET colleges, universities of technology and academic universities.
Who can apply
To be eligible you must:
- Be a South African citizen
- Live within a 50 km radius of the Droogfontein Solar Power plant
- Have an offer of admission from a recognised public or private tertiary institution
- Complete the application form in full
- Attach all required supporting documents
Applicants who finished their NSC or NTC in previous years are also welcome to apply.
What you can gain
The bursary amount is decided individually. It may cover:
- Tuition, registration and examination fees
- Accommodation or residence fees
- Meals, textbooks, learning materials and stationery
Supported programmes include NQF Level 6 technical courses, skills‑training, plumbing, bricklaying, national diplomas and degree studies.
How to apply – step by step
- Visit the official application page on StudyTrust’s online application platform and create an account.
- Fill in the online form carefully, ensuring every field is completed.
- Upload the required documents (ID, proof of residence, admission letter, academic transcripts, proof of financial need).
- Save the completed form and email it to b.ndlovu@studytrust.org.za as a backup.
- If you need assistance, submit a hard copy at the Tlhokomelo Centre, 776 corner of Lecholo and Matanzima Roads, Kimberley.
Applications are open from 1 June to 30 September 2026.
