What the opportunity is
The North West Department of Provincial Treasury, in partnership with the Public Service Sector Education and Training Authority (PSETA), is hiring 20 interns for a two‑year programme. The internship is based in Mahikeng and the Ramotshere Local Municipality, North West Province.
Interns will receive a monthly stipend of R7 675.75 and will be placed in one of the following areas (reference numbers are shown):
- Provincial Risk – 2 posts (FINANCE/PR/01)
- Departmental Risk – 1 post (FINANCE/DR/02)
- Provincial Accounting – 11 posts (FINANCE/PA/03)
- Finance – 2 posts at Ramotshere Local Municipality (FINANCE/FAN/R04)
- Internal Audit – 2 posts at Ramotshere Local Municipality (FINANCE/IA/R05)
- Human Resource Management – 2 posts at Ramotshere Local Municipality (FINANCE/HRM/R06)
Who can apply
To be eligible you must:
- Be a South African citizen
- Be aged between 18 and 35
- Be currently unemployed
- Hold the required qualification for the post you are applying for (see details below)
- Be able to commit to the full 24‑month internship

- Provincial Risk (2 posts): National Diploma or BTech in Internal Auditing or Risk Management
- Departmental Risk (1 post): National Diploma or BTech in Internal Auditing or Risk Management
- Provincial Accounting (11 posts): National Diploma or Degree in Accounting or Financial Accounting
- Finance – Ramotshere (2 posts): National Diploma or Degree in Accounting or Financial Management OR BTech in Internal Audit, Logistics or Supply Chain Management
- Internal Audit – Ramotshere (2 posts): National Diploma, Degree or BTech in Internal Auditing
- Human Resource Management – Ramotshere (2 posts): National Diploma or Degree in Human Resource Management
