What the internship is
The municipality, together with the Department of Energy and Electricity, runs the Electrical Graduate Internship Programme 2026. It is a 12‑month contract under the Energy Efficiency Demand Side Programme Grant (EEDSM) Graduates Programme. Four positions are available at the Technical Services – Electrical Division, located in Bela‑Bela, Limpopo.

Who can apply
You must be an unemployed South African graduate who meets all of the following:
- Completed Grade 12
- Holds an N3 Electrical Certificate
- Valid South African driver’s licence
- At least three months of related experience
- Willing to sign an internship or graduate‑programme agreement
- Project Management Certificate – an advantage, not a must
What you will gain
This internship gives you hands‑on experience with real energy‑efficiency projects. You will:
- Learn to manage a project database and track progress from concept to feasibility
- Collect and analyse data for priority energy‑efficiency initiatives
- Support monitoring of the Energy Efficiency and Demand Side Management Programme
- Prepare briefing reports and help organise workshops and events
- Develop practical knowledge of lighting, HVAC, water treatment, and small‑scale generation technologies
- Boost your computer skills, especially Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
