Sasol Inspector In Training Programme 2026 – Apply by 12 June Secunda

Want a solid technical career in inspection and safety? Sasol Inspector In Training Programme 2026 ends its application window on 12 June 2026, so time is running out.

What the opportunity is

Sasol is offering a three‑year Inspector In Training (NPE) programme at its Secunda plant in Mpumalanga. The training is fully accredited by the Southern African Institute of Welding (SAIW). Successful candidates will work towards becoming an Inspector of Pressurised Equipment (IPE) or a Competent Person (CP) Inspector.

Who can apply

To be eligible you must:

  • Have a Grade 12 certificate with at least 50 % in Pure Mathematics, Physical Science and English.
  • Preferably have completed S4 in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy or Welding Engineering (this is a plus, not a must).
  • Hold a valid driver’s licence (advantageous but not mandatory).

We are looking for candidates who are quality‑focused, communicate well and have a strong desire to learn.

What you will gain

  • Hands‑on experience with visual inspections, wall‑thickness measurement, magnetic particle and dye‑penetrant testing.
  • Training on inspection of pressure vessels, steam generators and piping under the Pressure Equipment Regulations.
  • Skills in interpreting radiographs, pressure tests and advanced non‑destructive testing (UT, TOFD, PAUT, IRIS, Eddy Current, X‑ray, etc.).
  • Experience writing technical reports and recommending repair or replacement actions.
  • Accredited qualification from SAIW, opening doors to senior inspection roles.

How to apply

  1. Visit the official Sasol job page: Apply for the Inspector In Training Programme.
  2. Complete the online application form before the closing date (12 June 2026).
  3. Upload a clear copy of your Grade 12 results, proof of any S4 qualification, and your driver’s licence (if you have one).
  4. Submit a short motivation letter that highlights your interest in process safety and inspection.
  5. Double‑check that all required fields are filled and click “Submit”.

Tips to improve your chances

  • Proofread your application – spelling mistakes can hurt your credibility.
  • Tailor your motivation letter to the key duties listed (visual inspection, NDT methods, safety compliance).
  • Include any extra courses, workshops or projects related to welding, metallurgy or safety.
  • If you have a driver’s licence, mention it prominently.
  • Apply early; the system may become slower as the deadline approaches.

Next steps

Take a moment now to gather your documents and start the online form. This programme can launch a rewarding career in a high‑demand field, but you must act before 12 June 2026. Good luck – you have the potential; the programme will give you the training.
