What the learnership offers

This is a 12‑month, NQF Level 5 learnership run by the eThekwini Municipal Academy. It focuses on public finance and municipal administration, placed within the Meter Readings Division. Successful learners receive the qualification “Public Financial Management and Administration – NQF Level 5”.

You will also develop workplace skills in communication, teamwork, time management, problem‑solving and professional conduct.

How to apply – step by step

  1. Gather the required documents:
    • Certified copy of South African ID
    • Certified copy of Matric certificate
    • Certified copy of your driver’s licence
    • Proof of residence within eThekwini
    • Updated CV

  5. Ensure the package reaches the address before 08 May 2026, 12:00 midday.

Tips to improve your chances

  • Double‑check that every document is recently certified; missing signatures lead to rejection.
  • Keep a copy of everything you send for your records.
  • Practice basic finance and accounting concepts – they often appear in written assessments.
  • Be ready to discuss how you can handle field work, as the driver’s licence is essential for meter‑reading duties.
  • Dress neatly for any verbal interview or medical screening; first impressions matter.

Next steps

Do not delay – gather your documents, write your application, and post it before the deadline. Even if the competition is strong, meeting every requirement and presenting a tidy, complete submission gives you the best possible chance of being shortlisted.
