What the opportunity is

The EPWP (Expanded Public Works Programme) Tourism Monitors Programme offers unemployed youth a four‑month contract to work at SANParks attractions near where they live. The contract ends on 31 August 2026. Successful monitors will be based at one of the following sites:

  • Table Mountain National Park (Ref: TMNPX9R) – 9 posts
  • Agulhas National Park (Ref: ANPX3R) – 3 posts
  • Bontebok National Park (Ref: BNPX1R) – 1 post

All placements are within a 40‑50 km radius of the candidate’s residence.

Who can apply

  • South African citizen
  • Unemployed youth aged 18–35 years
  • Matric certificate or an equivalent qualification
  • Good command of English
  • Reliable transport to and from work
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays
  • Interest in tourism or the environment

Added advantage

  • Any qualification in tourism, environmental studies or a related field

Disqualification criteria

  • More than one applicant from the same household
  • Proof of residence submitted as an affidavit (not accepted)
