The West Coast District Municipality invites unemployed South African graduates to apply for the Financial Services Internship Programme 2026. This is part of the Municipal Finance Management Internship Programme (MFMIP). They have 3 positions available in the Financial Services department in Moorreesburg, Western Cape.
The contract is for one year and can be renewed for another year. You will earn between R96 000 and R144 000 per annum, all-inclusive. Reference numbers are MM5 and FS3.
Who can apply?
You need a 3-year Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in Accounting, Economics, or Finance. Your studies must include majors in Risk Management and/or Auditing.
You must be between 21 and 35 years old and be willing to sign an internship agreement. Only unemployed graduates are invited to apply.
What you will gain
You will get hands-on training in municipal budgeting, finance, and treasury operations. This follows the rules of the Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA).
One post focuses on Internal Auditing. The other two cover Finance and Supply Chain Management. You will work in the Municipal Budget and Treasury Office and build real skills in financial and administrative work.
The programme can also give you credits toward a Municipal Finance Management qualification. Many young people find this helps them become more employable in the public sector.
