What is the SARB Graduate Development Programme 2026?

The South African Reserve Bank (SARB) is offering a one‑year, on‑the‑job learning journey that starts in February 2027. You’ll work from its head office in Pretoria and rotate through different departments, gaining real exposure to monetary policy, financial stability and more. The programme also includes learning sessions at the SARB Academy focused on central banking and essential soft skills such as public speaking, teamwork, and professional etiquette.

Who should apply?

Applicants must hold a postgraduate qualification. For the main programme, acceptable fields include:

  • Economics, Econometrics, Statistics, Research
  • Policy Analysis, Public Finance, Accounting, Auditing, Law
  • Financial Mathematics, Engineering, Digital Technology, Fintech
  • Portfolio or Investment Management, Mathematics, Quantitative Analysis
  • Business Analysis, Risk Management (operational & financial), Actuarial Science

The Data Science Graduate Development Programme accepts:

  • Data Science, Machine Learning / AI, Predictive Analytics Modelling
  • Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Digital Technology (IT)
  • Fintech, Economics with Econometrics
