Hey there! If you’re a South African youth between 18 and 35 who is looking for a chance to jump into the world of engineering, GZ Industries has a 12‑month internship that could be right for you. The Engineering Internship Programme kicks off in 2026 and will run at the Wadeville plant in Germiston, Gauteng. You’ll be paid for your time, learn real‑world skills, and meet people who can help shape your future career.
What the Internship Covers
This internship isn’t just a summer job. It gives you a whole year of hands‑on experience in a manufacturing setting. You’ll see how things are built, how processes are improved, and how engineers solve everyday problems. The goal is to help you understand the engineering field beyond the classroom.
Key Details
- Program type: Engineering Internship Programme
- Length: 12 months
- Workplace: 1 Snapper Road, Wadeville, Germiston, Gauteng
- Age: 18–35
- Deadline to apply: 13 February 2026
All of this happens inside a real factory, so you’ll learn about machinery, production lines, and how teams coordinate to keep the plant running smoothly.
Who Can Join?
If you fit any of the following, this could be a good fit for you:
- Someone who finished a degree or diploma in an engineering‑related field but hasn’t worked in a job or internship before.
- A recent graduate from TVET, university, or a technical college with a passion for engineering.
- A young person who is excited about factories, production, and the technology that keeps things moving.
It doesn’t matter whether you studied chemical, mechanical, electrical, industrial engineering or any of the other options listed below. Just make sure you have the right qualification.
What Qualifications are Needed?
We want people who are fresh out of school and ready to learn. If you’re currently working or have done an internship before, this program might not be for you. The required qualifications are:
- National Diploma or BTech in Chemical Engineering, Analytical Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
- Or a certificate from N3 to N6 that covers Mathematics and Science.
Being able to read technical drawings and having a good grasp of math and science are big pluses. If you have any disability, please feel free to apply – we want to build a diverse team.
Why This Internship Matters
In many cases, the first step into a career can be the hardest. This program gives you a paycheck, real tasks to do, and a chance to ask questions to people who have been in the industry for years. You’ll see how the big ideas from school come together in a real factory and you’ll be able to say you’ve done it.
Working at the Wadeville plant also means you’ll meet other interns and staff. Networking is not just about who you know, but about the support and advice you get from people who are already working in the field.
How to Apply
If you meet the criteria and want to try out the internship, you’ll need to send an email with a copy of your resume and a short note that says why you want this job. Make sure the email subject says “Engineering Internship 2026 – [Your Name]”.
You can email the application to hrsa@gzican.com. We’ll let you know if we have a spot for you within one month of your email. If you haven’t heard back after a month, it means we didn’t select you for this round.
