Are you a South African who just finished high school or a university course and still looking for a job? The City of Mbombela, together with the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment, is offering a 12‑month internship called the EPWP Environmental Management Programme. It is part of the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) and gives young people a real job while they learn skills that will help them find a career in sustainability or biodiversity. If you are between 18 and 35, a citizen of South Africa and not currently working or studying full time, you can apply.
Where and When
- Location – The internship takes place in the City of Mbombela, Mpumalanga, South Africa. Work will be spread across the four regions of the municipality.
- Deadline – Submit your application before 22 January 2026 at 4:00 pm.
- Stipend – You will receive a daily allowance of R165.00 for Grade 12 interns or R271.04 for diploma/degree interns.
What the Programme Looks Like
The EPWP internship mixes a temporary job with on‑the‑ground training. You will help with projects that protect wildlife, manage forests, keep water clean and make the city greener.
