Why Carpentry and Bricklaying?
Carpentry works on houses, offices, furniture, and repair jobs. You’ll learn how to build roofs, fit doors and windows, finish woodwork, and stay safe on site.
Bricklaying is essential for every building project, from low‑cost homes to malls and factories. You’ll learn to lay bricks and blocks, plaster walls, read plans, set foundations, and keep a construction site clean and safe.
Both trades are in high demand. Skilled workers can move into supervisory roles, start their own businesses, or pursue further studies in construction management or engineering.
Who Can Join?
- Must be a South African citizen and not working right now.
- Hold a Level 4 qualification in either carpentry or bricklaying.
- Must have passed every subject in that qualification.
- You cannot have taken any previous apprenticeship, learnership, or skills programme.
Letaba TVET College students get a little extra priority, but anyone meeting the rules can apply.
