Toyota South Africa Learner Maintenance Learnership – 2026
Toyota South Africa wants to help young people who are not working right now get a real job in cars and machines. The company has a 12‑month training programme called the Learner Maintenance (Unemployed Prod) Learnership. It is aimed at students and graduates who have some technical or engineering background and want to start a career in manufacturing and maintenance. If you finish the programme, you will earn a National Qualification Framework (NQF) Level 3 certificate that shows you can work in a factory or workshop.
Where the training happens
The training takes place at Toyota’s big plant in Prospecton, Durban, in the province of KwaZulu‑Natal. This is one of South Africa’s most modern and busy production sites, so you will see the whole process of making cars from start to finish.

Who can apply
You must be unemployed and have one of the following academic qualifications:
- A National Technical Certificate (NTC) from N3 to N6 levels, or
- Matric or Technical Matric that includes one of these subjects: Mathematics and Physical Science, Engineering Science, Electrical Trade Theory, Mechanical Trade Theory, Motor Trade Theory, or Mechanical Drawing/Graphical Design.
If you have any of these, you can apply. We are especially looking for people who do not have a job yet but have studied something technical.
