If you love working with computers and want a chance to learn on the job, the Northern Cape Rural TVET College (NCR TVET College) is hiring an ICT Intern (CP).
This is a full‑time internship that lasts 12 months. It’s a paid position – you’ll earn R120 000 a year – and it will give you hands‑on experience with the college’s computers, networks, and security systems.

What the job is about
As an ICT Intern, you’ll be the first line of help for anyone who has a computer or network problem. Your tasks will include:
- Support – answer questions and fix problems with hardware, software, and network connections.
- Install and upgrade – set up new equipment, keep it updated, and make sure everything runs smoothly.
- Troubleshoot – diagnose why things aren’t working and fix them.
- Keep systems safe – apply software patches, manage virus protection, and watch for security threats.
- Write down what you do – keep logs, document steps, and help with reports.
- Help with projects – join in on bigger IT projects like moving to new systems.
- Maintain inventory – check that all gear is working and keep track of what is available.
You’ll work closely with other IT staff, but you’ll also be able to work on your own.
What we need from you

- Experience with Windows Server or Active Directory.
- Familiarity with database backup and management.
- Some knowledge of ITIL (a set of best practices for IT).
- An NQF Level 6 qualification in ICT.
