Seriti 2026 Community Scholarships: Open for New Graduates

If you’re a South African student who lives near one of Seriti’s mines in Mpumalanga and you want to go to university but don’t have enough money, the Seriti Community Scholarship is a chance you’ll want to take. The scholarship is open for the 2026 academic year and will give you a full education package—tuition, books, a place to stay and food—so you can focus on your studies.

When the deadline is?
You have until 22 December 2025 to apply. Don’t wait until the last minute; if you submit late, it will be rejected.

Who can apply?

  • Location – You must live in one of the communities around these Seriti operations in Mpumalanga:

    • Khutala Colliery (Emalahleni)
    • Kriel Colliery
    • Middelburg Mine Services
    • New Denmark Colliery
    • New Vaal Colliery

If you live elsewhere, you can’t apply.

  • Citizenship – Only South African citizens are eligible.

  • Education – You must have finished high school (Matric) and be planning to study for a degree or diploma that is at least NQF Level 6.

  • University acceptance – You must be accepted, or at least provisionally accepted, to a recognised university or university of technology in South Africa.

  • Academic record – Your most recent results need an average of 60 % or higher.

  • No other aid – You can’t be receiving any other bursary, scholarship or sponsorship at the same time.

If any of these points is not true, your application will be dropped.
