Sasol, a big name in chemicals and energy, is opening a 12‑month learnership that helps South African youth who are currently without a job start a real career. If you just finished Grade 12 and want hands‑on work experience while learning the basics of office and business skills, this is a job you can’t miss.
When to Apply and Where the Work Happens

- Length of the program: 12 months, fixed‑term contract
- Locations available: Secunda in Mpumalanga, Sandton in Gauteng, and Sasolburg in the Free State
The learnership is part of Sasol’s Group Rewards & Human Capital Solutions team, and it offers a mix of classroom learning and on‑site work.
What You’ll Do
Learn in the Classroom
You’ll study topics that build a foundation for a career in business and admin:- How to run a small business
- The day‑to‑day workings of a company
- How to treat customers well
- Basic accounting and maths
- Writing and speaking skills
- Using a computer for everyday tasks
Work on the Job
In real offices you’ll help managers and teams:- Organise files and paperwork
- Support meetings and meetings notes
- Keep the office running smoothly
- Get a feel for how a large company operates
The goal is to give you confidence, a solid work ethic, and a portfolio of skills that future employers will notice.
Who Can Join?
- Anyone who finished Grade 12.
- Young people who don’t have a job right now.
- Those interested in a future in office work, HR, or business operations.
- People who want to learn, grow, and see what it’s like to work for a global firm.
The programme is friendly to people with 0–1 year of work experience, so you do not need a long résumé.
What the Job Requires
- Education – You must have a Matric or Grade 12 certificate. A diploma or bachelor’s degree can help you stand out, but it is not a must.
- Experience – None is required. This is a starting point for a career.
