Explore a Hands‑On Career in Heavy Machinery – Apprenticeship in Middelburg
Barloworld Equipment is looking for South African youth who are currently without a job to join its Apprentice X10 Global Grade 03 Programme. This apprenticeship takes you straight into the world of big trucks, bulldozers, and other heavy earthmoving machines. You’ll learn how to check, fix, and keep these machines running in real work environments, from a workshop to a construction site. If you want to start a career where you can see the results of your work every day, this could be the right path for you.
What You’ll Do
During the program you will:
- Check big machines to make sure everything is working properly.
- Troubleshoot problems, run basic tests, and do routine maintenance.
- Fix parts that break and replace them with new ones.
- Take parts on and off the machines, so you know exactly how each piece fits.
- Order replacement parts when you need them, and keep track of the inventory.
- Keep paperwork straight: write service reports, book labor hours, manage part returns, and record expenses.
- Create accurate reports for customers about the condition of their machines.
- Write Machine Inspection Reports (MIR) to let owners know what needs attention.
You’ll work side by side with experienced technicians in a workshop and on client sites. Every task you finish will build a strong foundation in heavy equipment service.
