The Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS) is looking for South African youth who are not working right now to join the GIBS Youth Employment Service (YES) Programme 2026. This job gives you a chance to work at a top business school, learn real workplace skills, and earn a small salary while you study and grow your career.
Company: Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS)
Location: Gauteng, South Africa
Closing Date: 15 November 2025
Programme Duration: January 2026 – January 2027
The programme is one year long and is designed for recent graduates who need a steady job and practical experience. You’ll get a paycheck and a chance to see how businesses run in a real environment. The work is split into different departments so you can try out a few areas and find out what you like best.
What the GIBS YES Programme Is All About
Young people in South Africa face a tough job market. For those aged 15–34, the unemployment rate is 45.5% (as of Q1 2024), which is higher than the national average of 32.9%. The GIBS YES Programme tackles this by offering real jobs, mentors who give advice, and connections to professionals who can help you find future opportunities.
You’ll work at GIBS on a fixed‑term contract that lasts 12 months, from January 2026 to January 2027. During that time you will learn about the day‑to‑day life of a business, pick up skills that employers value, and build a foundation for your next career step.
Why You Should Apply
- Real Work Experience: You’ll actually work in a business setting rather than just reading about it.
- Start Your Career: GIBS is a well‑known name in South Africa’s business world.
- Make Connections: You’ll meet experienced professionals and other ambitious people.
- Earn Money: You’ll receive a stipend that covers your living costs while you learn.
