If you live in the Breede Valley area and are ready to start a university degree, this is a chance you don’t want to miss. The municipality is offering a bursary that will help pay part of your university registration fees. The goal is to support students who want to study subjects that can help our local government and community grow.
When and where to apply
- Deadline: 8 December 2025 at 2:00 pm
- Mail or hand‑deliver your application to the Human Resources office at 53 Baring Street, Worcester.
- Or send it by post to: Manager – Human Resources, Private Bag X3046, Worcester, 6849.
What the bursary covers
The bursary is not a full tuition payment. It will pay only a portion of the registration fees that universities charge. The money goes straight into the school’s bank account, so you won’t have to manage the payment yourself.
Who can apply
You must:
- Live in one of these towns: Rawsonville, Worcester, De Doorns, or Touwsrivier.
- Be in your final year of high school (Matric) or have finished it.
- Have a final score of at least 50 % in your Matric exams.
- Want to study a subject that connects with local government or community work. Other subjects can also be considered if you think they will help you in the future.
- Be enrolling or already enrolled in a South African university or college that is officially recognized.
- Not already receive funding from NSFAS or any other bursary.
- Show a real interest in helping the community and in acting with honesty and integrity.
