Job Overview

The KwaZulu‑Natal Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (KZN DARD) is looking for fresh graduates from KwaZulu‑Natal who are currently without a job to join their 2026–2028 Internship Recruitment Programme. This is a 24‑month paid internship that will give you real work experience inside the public service. You will work in a variety of science, engineering, and management roles that help the province grow its farms and rural communities.

  • Location: anywhere in KwaZulu‑Natal

About the Department

KZN DARD runs programmes that support farmers, keep food safe, protect the land and help rural areas grow. The internship is a way for the department to give young people a chance to learn and build skills inside the public sector. You’ll be able to see how science, technology, and management work together to make agriculture better for everyone.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered you must:

  1. Be a South African citizen living in KwaZulu‑Natal.
  2. Be currently unemployed and applying for a public‑service internship for the first time.
  3. Hold a National Diploma, Degree, Honours, or Postgraduate qualification that matches the role you want.
  4. Send all the documents that the application asks for.
  5. Meet the specific qualification details listed next to each reference number.

Preference will be given to people who belong to previously disadvantaged groups, people with disabilities, and applicants from certain areas mentioned in the posting.
Note: If you have already been an intern before, you cannot apply again.
